David Nations - Barbergator of the Year - 2025

Congratulations to David Nations, our 2025 Barbergator of the Year! 
The award was announced Wednesday night at this year's Installation Ceremony and Dinner at Cypress and Grove Brewing.

David earned this award "in recognition of outstanding dedication, exemplary service, and significant contributions to the Barbergators Chorus" as voted on by the membership.

David joined the Barbergators Chorus in 2021 and has been a go-to guy ever since. He is a member of our baritone section. Sings both baritone and bass in quartets.
He has served on the chapter board as Secretary (2024-2024) and VP Music and Performance (2025). He also serves as our chapter librarian. (He saw the need and took over.)

He has become an avid quartetter.  He formed his quartet "Dymanix" in 2023 and has competed in Sunshine District Spring and Fall conventions four times.  

After attending the 2023 BHS MIdwinter Convention in Daytona Beach and participating in "Harmony Platoon" he led the initiative to create a Harmony Platoon experience at Sunshine District Conventions, eventually becoming the district Harmony Platoon Coordinator. 

He was a nominee for the Sunshine District Barbershopper of the Year in 2024, largely due to his leadership of the Harmony Platoon program.

Outside of barbershop, he has a wonderfully dynamic and talented family. He play keyboard on his church worship team, and has been involved with Scouts USA as an assistant scoutmaster.

The Barbergator of the Year is voted on by the membership. All members are eligible with the exception of the four most recent recipients.
